Welcome to Inspire Africa Project! In my book, The Untapped Treasures, I shared this powerful story. “A beggar was sitting at a train station with a bowl full of pencils. A young executive passed by and dropped a dollar into the bowl, but didn’t take any pencil. He then boarded the train, just before the doors were to close, the executive suddenly exited the train and went back to the beggar. He grabbed a bunch of pencils, and said, “I will take some pencils. They are priced right. After all, you are a business person and so am I, and dashed back onto the the train.

Six months later, the executive attended a party. The beggar was also there, dressed in suit and tie. The beggar recognized the executive, went to him and said, you probably don’t recognize me, but I remember you. He then narrated the incident that had happened six months before. The executive said, now that you remind me, I do recall that you were begging. What are you doing here in suit and tie?

The beggar replied, you probably don’t know what you did for me that day. Instead of giving me charity you treated me with dignity…After you left, I said to myself, what am I doing here? Why am I begging? I packed my bag, started working and here I am. I just want to thank you for giving me back my dignity.”-Shiv Khera.

Am sure there are millions of people like this man across Africa. Instead of maximizing the treasures that are trapped in them, they chose to beg. I usually say that begging is not honourable, it is shameful! Let me show you how to discover the treasures that are crying for expression inside you. (You can order for The Untapped Treasures, Twelve Pillars of Financial Success and many dvds that will help you to discover your potentials)

1. What You’re Angry At Reveals What You Contain. Moses was angry at the way the Egyptian task masters were dealing with the Israelites and he killed one of them. Instead of encouraging the man for doing his job well, he killed him. That anger revealed what was crying for expression inside him–deliverer/great leader! Your potential reacts when what is connected to it is happening. Your positive anger is a pointer to what you are wired to do. Any condition that gives you a concern might be pointing to what you were created to correct!

2. Where Do You Flow Freely? There are people who do the work of a secretary in every meeting they attend. From kindred meeting, to town meeting, to market union meeting, to church meeting, to every meeting under the sun, they are the secretary, and they are still binding the demon of poverty! It’s very clear that you were divinely wired to write.

Can’t you start writing books or something? Pick up your diary or device and start putting together whatever comes into your mind. It could be fiction novel for pupils and students, or books that will help people to succeed in a particular area of life. I love writing so much that I cannot remember how many times I write on daily basis. I just looked at the time now and discovered that I am still writing by 12:34 AM, yet am enjoying it.

It’s unfortunate that most times we focus our attention on the things we struggle at. How can a fish pay more attention to flying instead of learning how to be a better swimmer? Many people are struggling in life because they are doing what they hate instead of doing what gives them the greatest joy. Your salary can become a big trap that will kill your potential.

If you ask Michael Jordan to become a footballer he will be so miserable that nobody will know who he is today. If you ask Lionel Messi to become a goalkepper, he would have ended up as a complete failure. Locate where you flow freely and develop yourself in that area. It may not be popular, but if you can give it all it takes, the world will definitely look for you!

While Michael Jordan flow in basketball, Tiger Woods flow in golf and both of them a stars. While Uzain Bolt flow on the track, Michael Phelps flow in the swimming pool. While Bill Gates flow in computer software, Donald Trump flow in real estate. The problem is some people are afraid of doing what gives them joy because of what their friends or relatives will say. You must understand that before you were born, people have been saying nonsense, and even when you die, the nonsense business will continue.

Stop pleasing others while you’re living in misery, after all, Jesus said that you should love your neighbour as yourself. That means, you must love yourself first before you can love others! Brian Tracy said, “The potential of the average person is like a huge ocean unsailed, a new continent unexplored, a world of possibilities waiting to be released and channeled toward some great good.”

Og Mandino opined, “I am here for a purpose and that purpose is to grow into a mountain, not shrink to a grain of sand. Henceforth will I apply all my efforts to become the highest mountain of all and I will strain my potential until it cries for mercy.” None of us has the right to be poor or unfulfilled if we truly discover where we belong on the face of the earth.
