Welcome to #InspireAfricaProject! Have you noticed that anytime a football player scores a goal, the first person he runs to is the team mate that gave him the pass that led to the goal? The goal scorer is simply showing us that without that person’s assistance, he wouldn’t have scored the goal. Although his name will be in the score sheet, but it was his team mates that made it happen.
Every star is a team player. We all know that Usain Bolt is one of the best athletes in human history, but a number of people in his team actually made him whom he is today. People like Coach Glen Mills and many others played important roles in the life of Usain Bolt. Every sports star needs a coach, physiotherapist, physiologist, training partners etc. to succeed.
No matter how good Lionel Messi is, if his team mates at FC Barcelona decides not to pass the ball to him, he will be rendered useless in the pitch. His team mates actually helped to make him a footballer star. That’s why every football player celebrates their team mates whenever they win an award.
Every organization is like a football team, if the leader or the owner of the organization don’t have quality personnel to run different departments in the organization, it will never grow. The major assignment of leaders and managers is to find creative and skillful individuals who would help them to run the organization.
There are great coaches who will fail woofly if they have average players. Great football coaches like Alex Ferguson, Jose Mourinho, Pep Guardiola, Vicente del Bosque and many others wouldn’t have succeeded if they did not coach football clubs like Manchester United, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea, Beyern Munich and other big clubs. If these coaches were employed by clubs that have average players, they wouldn’t have attained greatness in their profession.
The secret of every successful leader or a professional is his ability to set up a winning team. You will never attain greatness if you work with average people. Your idea will never see the light of the day if you don’t have the right personnel. If you interview billionaires like Bill Gates, Warren Buffet, Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg, you will discover that their ability to set up a solid team is their major secret.
If you look at the ministry of Jesus, you will discover that He put together a team when He stepped out to fulfill His assignment. Just look at the quality of people He had in His team. Peter was an extrovert. He was bold and audacious. So if Jesus needed a person who could take risk for the ministry, Peter was available. That’s the number one quality every salesperson must have. That quality enabled Peter to sell Jesus to 3,000 people on the Pentecost day.
James and John were somehow proud. They agreed with their mother, went to Jesus and demanded for this; “….Teacher, we want You to do for us whatever we ask.” And He said to them, “What do you want Me to do for you?” They said to Him, “Grant us that we may sit, one on Your right hand and the other on Your left, in Your glory.” Mark 10:35-37.
Every team needs people like that. You need people who can walk up to anybody on this planet and place a demand for what your organization wants. If all your staff are timid you will never go far. You need James and John who can enter any office, no matter how highly placed and get results for your company.
One of the secrets of successful people in the developed nations is their ability to launch an idea with partners. Most large organization in the United States of America for instance are not owned by one person. For example, Microsoft was founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen. Google was founded by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak.
Facebook was founded in February 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg, Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes. Its revenue in 2016 alone is $27.638 billion. Uber operates in 570 cities worldwide and it was founded in March, 2009 by two young men, Travis Kalanick (40), and Garret Camp (38). Their revenue in 2006 is $6.5 billion.
Twitter was created in March 2006 by Jack Dorsey, Noah Glass, Biz Stone, and Evan Williams, and launched in July of that year. The service rapidly gained worldwide popularity. In 2012, more than 100 million users posted 340 million tweets a day, and the service handled an average of 1.6 billion search queries per day.
Why do they launch their ideas with partners? The answer is simple, to maximize each person’s strength. The person who is good with idea generation will look for a friend who knows how to translate the idea into a business, and join forces with him or her. The one who knows how to turn ideas to wealth will look for another friend who knows how to market the idea. That way, they help each other to make money. But before I conclude today’s discussion, these are some of the people you need in your team:
1. Idea Person. Without an idea, you can never establish a company or an organization in the first place. The first thing anyone who wants to create wealth need is uncommon ideas. Whenever we pray for prosperity, what God usually release to us is ideas. Why? Because the money you’re looking for is trapped in ideas. So a team without an idea generator is not complete.
2. A Connector. There are people who knows literally anyone you are like for on earth. They are super extroverts. They make friends easily. If you’re looking for how to call or meet a person, kindly look for connectors. They have the contacts or the phone numbers of anyone or organization you are looking for.
3. A Coordinator. Most idea generators are not good organizers. If you’re an idea person, kindly look for coordinators. They are strategic people. They can sit down and show you how your ideas can be translated into products and services. Every influential person on this earth works with coordinators. In fact, most personal assistants are gifted coordinators. If you hand over your ideas to them, they will hand over products and services to you.
Kindly look for these people, and the thirteen others we will show you when you sign up for the training program. If your business needs your presence to thrive, it’s still at the start-up level no matter your annual turnover. Great leaders automate their businesses and organizations so that they can have time to do other things. Team building is one of the most important factors that guarantee unprecedented success.
