Welcome to Inspire Africa Project! Today’s discussion is designed to liberate those who belongs to the association of haters, mockers and critics. Several years ago, I discovered that many people usually see the negative side of everything. If they walk into a beautiful mansion, they won’t see the house but they will easily see the cobwebs.
If they read a book, they will not learn anything from it, but they will see only errors. If they are married, they will never see the good side of their spouse, but they will always talk about their challenges. When I discovered this, I made up my mind to be focusing on the good side of everything. When the negative side is so obvious, I will address it with wisdom.
Am yet to see any perfect human being on earth, even critics and haters have their own challenges. The number one organization that criticizes almost everything government does in Nigeria is the Nigerian Labour Congress, yet they couldn’t organize a free and fair election few years ago. Their last election in Abuja was a complete mess, yet they are always looking for what to criticize. The question now is how can haters or those who are jealous of other people’s achievement overcome it?
1. Celebrate The Achievement of Others. You must understand that nobody’s rising is the reason for your downfall. There is enough space for everybody at the top. Stop looking for ways to pull successful people down because the sky is too wide for two birds to collide! Have you ever seen where birds or airplane collided in the sky? Never! Why? Because there is enough space for all of them to thrive.
If one thousand airplanes take off at the same time, none of them will complain about shortage of space. If one billion birds take off at the same time, none of them will complain about space. So you can see that nobody is stopping you from succeeding, you’re the one holding yourself.
Jealousy and envy can never make you a better person, rather it will make you bitter. Hatred, envy and jealousy are the number major reasons why people slander, criticize and even look for ways to eliminate others. Instead of being jealous of other people’s achievement I will advise that you start celebrating their successes from today. I discovered that whatever you celebrate, you will attract, but what you hate you will not attract!
2. Stop Belittling Other People’s Achievements In Order To Pacify Your Failure. A paraphrased Igbo adage says, “When a prey outruns somebody, he will belittle the effort of the person who caught the prey.” One of the reasons why poor people believe that every rich person must have done some evil things to make their money is to encourage themselves. It’s like, since we couldn’t make it in life, anyone that makes it must be labeled a crook so that we can have peace in our poverty.
To break out of your comfort zone and launch a manhunt for the recovery of your enviable destiny, you must be challenged by other people’s achievement. Stop giving excuses for failure, break out of the camp of littleness and become whom God created you to be.
If you end up little or as a piece of statistical material that is only good for census, you can’t blame anybody because God wired you to become a pacesetter, trailblazer, pathfinder and a history maker! To die little is an insult to the integrity of God who gave you His Spiritual DNA to operate in His class!
Get up from that chair of lamentation and make your life count. Joel Osteen said, “I want to challenge you today to get out of your comfort zone. You have so much incredible potentials on the inside. God has put gifts and talents in you that you probably don’t know anything about.”
Manoj Arora opined, “Coming out of your comfort zone is tough in the beginning, chaotic in the middle, and awesome in the end…because in the end, it shows you a whole new world!! Make an attempt.” Luimar Silva concluded the matter this way, “A failure is not the individual who searches for opportunities and does not find, but the one with the chance to go further but instead decides to remain in his comfort zone.”
