Welcome to #InspireAfricaProject! Few years ago, I delivered an inspirational teaching titled, Do It Now! That teaching has transformed lives across the world. In fact, some people buy the CD to share with anyone who is afraid to confront what looks like an impossible task. A young man told me how he built a palatial home after listening to that teaching. I explained in that teaching that the most important period of your life is not yesterday, it’s not tomorrow, it’s no even today, but RIGHT NOW! If you want to accomplish anything in life, don’t ever postpone it, do it now!
I shared this story in that teaching. During the attack on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, General Douglas MacArthur and his soldiers devastated Japan. The victory was so devastating that the Japanese began to worship the General. As a Christian, General Douglas told them that he was not a god, and started preaching Christ to them. When he saw that Japan was rip for soul winning, he wrote letters to all the missionary organizations in the United States of America to send missionaries to Japan.
Unfortunately, the missionary organizations kept dilly-dallying. General Douglas sent the letter several times to demand for missionaries, yet these people did not act fast. When they finally sent missionaries to Japan, it was already late. The Japanese had gone back to shintoism and other gods they were worshipping. Japan was lost forever. Today, the population of Japan is about 127 million. Guess what? The percentage of Christianity in Japan is about ONE PERCENT!
We lost Japan because the people that should send missionaries did not act fast. The same thing is happening in businesses, in professional careers and in every area of our lives. Many people are stranded in life today because they failed to take the action that would have changed their lives forever.
“On March 24th, 1975, Chuck Wepner, a relatively unknown 30-to-1 underdog, did what no one thought he could do- he went 15 rounds with the world heavyweight champion Muhammed Ali. In the ninth round, he reached Ali’s chin with a right hand, knocking the champion to the ground- shocking both Ali and the fans watching the fight. Wepner was only seconds away from being the world’s heavyweight champion. However, Ali went on to win the fifteen round bout and retain his title.
Over a thousand miles away, a struggling actor named Sylvester Stallone watched the fight on a newly purchased television set. Though Stallone had contemplated the idea of writing a screenplay about a down-and-out fighter getting a title shot before he saw the Ali-Wepner fight, he didn’t think it was plausible.
But after seeing Wepner, whom most people didn’t know, fighting the most well-known fighter of all time, all he thought was get me a pencil. He began to write that night, and three days later, he had completed the script for Rocky, which went on to win three Oscars, including one for best pictures, thus launching Stallone’s multimillion dollar movie career.”~Jack Carnfield.
If Sylvester Stallone did not start writing that movie immediately, am not sure some of us will not know whom he is today. I discovered years ago that waiting is dangerous. If you receive an idea to write a book, to establish a business or to do anything in life, and you choose to wait, the passion to initiate that idea will dissipate. Every idea comes with a passion for execution. If you wait, the passion will dissipate!
As an author, I know that the best time to write a book is when the outline is popping up on your head. If you fail to start putting you thought on paper, you won’t write that book. That’s why some people have ten books they couldn’t publish. To succeed in life, you must take action immediately you generate an idea.
If you want to accomplish any meaningful thing in life, you must quit waiting. It’s time to quit waiting for perfection, inspiration, permission, reassurance, the right person to come along, the kids to leave home or start school, the more favorable time, the new administration to take over, the enemy to stop chasing you, for someone to discover you or for the pain to go away. Today is the right time to take action.
One of the scriptures that inspires me so much is 2 Corinthians 6:2. “For He says: “In an acceptable time I have heard you, and in the day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” Dear friend, now is the right time to take action. Establish that business, propose to that lady, build that house, make that contact, just do it now! To order for the CD, kindly call Godwin on 07032681154. Keep soaring!
